I have been going to Toronto Audiology Associates for a number of years now, and I have found Colleen and the staff to be highly knowledgeable, very professional, and always welcoming. I have been so impressed with their expertise, attention to detail and follow-up.

Usually, I don’t write reviews, but I have to this time. After visiting multiple places to have earwax unsuccessfully removed, I was recommended to Toronto Audiology Associates. I visited there this morning with earwax build-up, and in no time it was gone, I couldn’t believe it. Quick and easy process, and the ladies were very professional. Now I can hear clearly again.

Jeffrey Switzer

Jeffrey Switzer, M.S.
Audiologist, reg. CASLPO
With extensive experience in all facets of the hearing health care field, Jeffrey Switzer founded Global Hearing Aid Clinic, where he has been able to combine the science and art of audiology as well as his extensive knowledge of hearing instruments to find solutions for people with hearing loss.

As a baby, Jeffrey contracted spinal meningitis, which often causes hearing impairment. The illness left him with a moderately severe hearing loss in one ear — an outcome that led to a deep interest in audiology.

Jeffrey earned a Master of Science degree in audiology from Minot State University in North Dakota. He began his work experience in a busy private hearing aid clinic in British Columbia. There he gained an understanding of the range of issues faced by people with hearing loss and the impact it can have on family and friends. He also developed technical fitting skills with the digital hearing instruments that began coming into the market.

Jeffrey accepted the role of territory manager at a major hearing instrument manufacturer, where he was able to experience a new side of the hearing health care field, and further developed what he calls the “Art and Science of Audiology.”

This position allowed him to travel throughout North America and gain expertise in another aspect of the field of audiology, as Jeffrey learned firsthand what the best hearing aid service providers do. His work with a second manufacturer gave Jeffrey a deeper understanding of the unique features and advantages of various hearing devices.

  • Not charge a return fee during the 30 day trial period.
Cons
  • The rates are above average.

Frank Talarico

Frank obtained a Clinical Master’s of Science degree in Audiology from Western University and an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from York University. He is a member, in good standing, with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO, Ontario licensing body). Frank is a member of the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA), and has been featured in the CAA academic journal, Canadian Audiologist, for his work on making hearing healthcare more globally accessible.

Frank pursued the career of audiology following the observation of an audiologist performing a hearing aid fitting on an elderly patient with hearing loss. After receiving the proper hearing aid, Frank observed this patient’s quality of life drastically improve as he became more involved with his family and attended more social events. After this life changing experience, Frank was motivated to learn more about this wonderful field. In 2015, another life changing experience had Frank conduct research in remote Arctic areas near Inuvik, Northwest Territories and Iqaluit, Nunavut. During his research, Frank observed the lack of audiology care and hearing resources for local residents in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Residents of these remote areas reported that they desperately needed hearing related services. This experience provided Frank a first-hand look at how low resource areas are significantly disadvantaged in hearing healthcare services. Over the last 3 years, Frank has worked on making hearing healthcare more globally accessible, and his efforts have been featured on websites such as Audiology Online, Canadian Audiologist, Medium, and Hackaday.

Customer Reviews

I’ve been taking my 93 year old father to a big chain hearing aid place. It seems like they just want to rush your appointment at the end of the day so they can go home. I came here for myself last year for the first time. I was impressed with the passion Frank has with his job explaining everything in detail.

I received an appointment the same day. Staff was very pleasant. The audiologist, Frank Talarico, was on time, very professional, & listened to my concerns patiently. He did a thorough examination of both ears using “state of the art” technology. He showed me, in real time, what the inside of my ears looked like, which reassured me that wax buildup was not the problem.
