I’m Tara and I’ve always been a food lover. My love for food led me to nutrition school.

But in nutrition school, food wasn’t celebrated, it was obsessed over. Eating wasn’t about pleasure, it was about fear. There were foods to eat and foods to avoid. I quickly picked up that the quality of my packed lunch was directly related to my self-worth. Anxiety was being injected into every decision that should have been made freely and naturally.

Over the years of practicing as a Holistic Nutritionist, I kept seeing the same thing. My client was continually someone lost, confused and panicked around what to eat. They were looking for the magic plan, the weight loss program that was going to turn their life around. I could feel the urgency in their voice and the unshakable belief that everything would be fixed once their food and weight “issues” were under control

I could hear them pleading with me, if I could just tell them what to do, everything would be okay. Until it wasn’t. They wondered why they were “failing”, binging, feeling anxious around food and like they had no “willpower”.

Pros
  • Certified Nutritional Practitioner
  • Since 2011
  • Private Coaching
Cons
  • Limited Availability

Customer Reviews

Tara is an exceptional intuitive eating counsellor! After years of treating food as the enemy I was finally able to see it in a whole new light. Tara helped me explore and uncover my fears, anxieties and judgements, not just about eating, but about my own body, my shape and my self image. To finally understand how years of restriction and reactionary eating have taken their toll on my body and my mind was actually a joyful journey.

There are not enough words of how important in my life it has been to learn from Tara. She helped me heal my relationship with food. Being a social worker, she recognized my passion for social justice and directed me to certain readings so that I could make the decision on my own to learn more about intuitive eating.

“I’m Tzabia – nutritionist, life coach, weight loss specialist, and the person behind The Food Coach®. I founded The Food Coach® knowing that there are so many smart, capable people out there who are stumped by the challenge of getting (and staying) at their ideal weight and optimal health. Evidence from my own journey, my work with thousands of clients, and studies in nutrition, neuroscience, natural healing and creativity make it clear that it is not just about calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Nor is it about the perception that we can will our body into submission. We are holistic beings and we won’t meet our goals for optimal health if we treat our bodies as separate from our minds, hearts and souls.

In a nutshell, The Food Coach® is about finding connection to ourselves, our body, our food, the earth, and to conscious awareness of our choices. It is NOT about judgment, a single “right diet” mindset, or quick fixes.”- Tzabia

Tzabia is my go to resource for anything that I need to know about nutrition and what I’m dealing with. With her help, my yearly bronchitis is no longer. I barely get colds now. My digestion is also much improved. She is excellent at what she does. Highly recommend.

As 2020 became the year of overeating and overindulged, I took the opportunity of changing that scenario and decided to start a nutritional journey with the Food Coach.

It was the best decision I ever made, for it helped me change my poor eating habits, stress, motivation and how I see food. Tzabia Siegel, the food coach, went in on the immediate and excellent plan.

Nishta is a fantastic Nutritionist. Our 20 month old was having trouble with his food intake (super picky eater), she really helped us establishing a good behaviour towards food. She got him eating veggies and meat after only 1 visit of assessment and suggestions!

FAQs about Nutritionists Services in Toronto

When do i see a nutritionist?

You may want to make changes in the way that you eat, have a food allergy, digestive issue, or you have a nutrition-related health condition like diabetes, heart disease, or high cholesterol. Each person’s reason for speaking with a dietitian is different.

What can I expect from a nutritionist?

Your provider will ask about your diet goals, objectives, and reasons for wanting to make a change. In addition to reviewing your medical history and current medications and supplements, they may also ask about your lifestyle to get a sense of your current stress, sleep patterns, and physical activity levels.

How often should you see a dietitian?

You might need to make up to four follow-up visits during the next 6 months, depending on your progress and overall health. After that, you’ll have one each year. Most insurance plans, including Medicare, cover a certain number of sessions with an RD or RDN.

Why is it important to consult a nutritionist?

The main purpose of nutrition consultation is to make sure that you can harness all the good nutrients to keep your body healthy. People with chronic or serious diseases can also take advantage of it as a complementary therapy. As mentioned earlier, consultations may be provided by either a nutritionist or a dietitian.

Should I see a nutritionist for weight loss?

Many people find medical nutrition therapy helpful for weight loss. Your dietitian will tell you how many calories to eat per day to lose weight steadily and safely. He or she can help you plan a healthy, nutritious diet. This can help you make positive lifestyle changes that last.

What to talk to a nutritionist about?

Some general questions that you may want to ask about are: How much should I be eating if I want to lose/gain/maintain weight? How do I know what foods I am intolerant to? How can I avoid foods that cause me to have uncomfortable symptoms? Can you help me create a meal plan that will help me achieve my nutrition goals?

There are many qualified and experienced nutritionists in Toronto, but the 10 best are all highly qualified and exceptional professionals. They can help you to make healthy choices for your diet and to improve your overall health. If you are looking for help with your nutrition, then one of these professionals is a great option for you.

There are many benefits to seeing a nutritionist or dietitian. They can help with health care, injuries or chronic pain, skin problems, eye vision, hearing problems and mental health together with other health professionals.

Nutritionists can help you stay healthy while you’re undergoing medical treatment. They can also advise you on how to eat after a surgery or injury.
Nutritionists can help people manage injuries and chronic pain by creating meal plans that reduce inflammation and promote healing. They may also recommend supplements to support the healing process.
Many skin problems, such as acne, eczema, and rosacea, are caused or aggravated by dietary factors. A nutritionist can help you identify these triggers and develop a plan to avoid them. He or she may also recommend specific supplements or foods to improve your skin condition.
A dietician would be able to guide us through our diets so that we could maintain good eye health into old age preventing any possible eye disease from attacking us when we cannot defend ourselves fully.
There are various causes for hearing loss problems such as long term exposure to loud noises, infection, genetic factors etcetera. Dieticians would be able put together diets which would minimize chances of getting hearing loss due long term exposure to noise pollution for example.
Mental health is just as important as physical health but unfortunately it isn’t taken seriously most times until something drastic happens. However many mental illnesses could be improved greatly if diagnosed early with professional advice from psychiatrists/psychologists working hand in hand with dieticians who will design special diets suited for each individual person

So if you’re looking for reliable advice on how to eat healthier, then one of these top 10 nutritionists in Toronto is definitely worth considering.
